Rare Pro-Black Yashica J-3
35mm SLR Film Camera
with matching Auto Yashinon 5cm f/2 Lens
Made by Tomioka Optical

Tested! - Fully Working!

Includes original instruction booklet
and Yashica leather case.
Also includes a new Mallory LR44 battery.

This was Yashica's first all-black SLR made
in 1963 for a limited production run.
The camera body in black is rare and the
matching all-black Tomioka-made lens
is beyond rare.

What works. Everything! The shutter fires
at all speeds and the light meter works.
Pictures 9 and 10 show the meter
on and then turned off.

The lens is clean and sharp. It's been
tested on my Fujifilm X-T2 with an
adapter for sharpness and clarity.
There is a bit of dust inside but no
haze or cloudiness.

Please check my detailed pictures as they
tell the story of how nice everything is.
There is a bit of paint loss and a hint of
brassing by both strap lugs which is expected
for a camera from this period. There is a slight
depression (ding) on the top of the
pentaprism where the accessory shoe would
have sat when attached.
The battery cover shows some wear and tear
but it still unscrews with a coin.

The leather case is in beautiful and clean
condition. All snaps work as they should.
The instruction booklet is in near-mint
condition and is complete with no issues.

I can provide additional pictures upon request.

Don't pass up the opportunity to own a bit of
history with this rare and unique Yashica. They
don't become available for sale very often,
especially in this nice of a condition and working.

Smoke and pet-free home.

I mail daily and this camera set will
be mailed fully insured and with tracking.
It must be signed for upon receipt.

*No returns.*
It is described and depicted accurately.
By their very nature, vintage cameras and
electronics are just that - vintage items
that have been used previously.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does your shop offer combined shipping?

Yes, just let us know and we'll work something out. No need to pay for shipping more than once.

Does your shop accept returns?

Yes, but with some exceptions. No returns on custom-made items. Part two - we will gladly accept a return within 14 days as long as it is returned to us in the same condition as when we sent it to you. Specifically, if an item is new and unused and in its original box and packaging it must be returned in an unused and unopened condition. Vintage and classic cameras, lenses, and certain pieces of vintage photogear carry no warranties or guarantees. By their very nature, older cameras are just that, old, and their electronics, levers, knobs, buttons, and dials can fail at any time. Let us know if you are returning something, maybe we can reach an agreement short of a full return. Part three - you will always pay for return shipping. Thanks

Will my purchase arrive well packaged?

Always! Carol and I take great care (and pride) in packaging your purchase. We are mindful of being "green" but often times green doesn't protect your package properly. We have been shipping items safely since 2003. We must say, however, that we are not responsible for mishandling by the carrier(s) or loss of an item. Most items and especially valuable items will always have insurance added.

How can I contact your shop?

We are on Etsy almost every day and the best way to get our attention is by starting an Etsy convo. We'll answer you quickly. We're generally in the shop until 11 PM EST.

Does your shop ever do custom orders?

Yes, we do. Just let us know what you want or are looking for and we'll see if we can make it happen.

Does your shop accept a best offer?

We think we have everything priced properly but we are here to make a sale and keep our customers happy. Let us know if you want to make an offer on something. I'm sure we will find a way to reach an accord.
